DESIGN STUDIO
Interior Design Studio in Kelowna & the Okanagan
ŌME is a principal-led interior design studio in Kelowna. We produce construction-ready drawings and specifications for multifamily buildings, commercial spaces and homes, and we work across the Okanagan, the BC Interior and beyond.
Multifamily interior design for developers and housing partners
We design suites, amenity spaces and common areas for buildings of 40 units and up: rental, condo, affordable housing and independent living. Our packages hold up through review, tender and years of daily use.
Durability comes first. We specify low-maintenance finishes for high-occupancy rental life. Standardized palettes keep 40 or 100 units consistent and simple to procure, while amenity spaces still feel residential. Our documentation is built for contractors to price and build. BC Housing Design Guidelines and Universal Design are handled from concept, not patched in at review.

Commercial interiors and tenant improvements
Offices, dental clinics and optometry practices have to work for staff and patients from the first day. We plan tenant improvements around the workflow: reception and waiting, exam and treatment rooms, staff areas, storage, and the routes between them.
We select durable, easy-to-clean finishes, design the millwork and lighting, and coordinate with your landlord, contractor and trades, so the fit-out is built as drawn.
Our team has designed commercial spaces before, including the Kēlo Cannabis dispensary in Kelowna, Lakesider Brewing in West Kelowna and Kidz Early Learning Center, a daycare in Kamloops (completed under MATERIA Interior Design).
Custom homes, showhomes and renovations
We work best when we're brought in early, while the plans can still change. Layouts, kitchens, bathrooms, millwork, lighting and fixtures are chosen as one palette. On many homes we select the exterior finishes too, so the house reads as one piece from the front door to the view.
For builders, a showhome is a sales tool. Our Hidden Hills Showhome won Excellence in Interior Design (New Home Under 3,600 sq. ft.), 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence.
Furniture procurement and installation
Furniture is a core service, not an add-on. We source pieces with you, then order, track, deliver, install and stage them, so the home is move-in ready. When nothing off the shelf fits, we design the piece for the space.
How we work
Bring us in early. Decisions on layout, cabinetry, lighting and materials are cheaper to get right on paper than to change on site.
Principals on every project. Paco and Maria lead the work from the first meeting to the final walk-through. Maria is a LEED AP ID+C.
Flexible, intentional meetings. Every meeting has a purpose, and we hold it wherever it helps most: online, on site or at our suppliers.
Construction-ready documents. Our drawings and specifications are made to be priced and built, so there are fewer surprises on site.
Areas we serve
Our studio is in Kelowna. We work in West Kelowna, Lake Country, Vernon, Predator Ridge and Penticton, and in Kamloops. We also take on projects in Victoria, Vancouver and Alberta. Wherever the project is, we serve the Okanagan, the BC Interior and beyond.
Selected projects
Brookside: interiors for 49 affordable rental homes in a six-storey building.
Hidden Hills Showhome: an award-winning showhome with warm materials, vaulted ceilings and long views.
Woodside Showhome: one level, one open room, and a double-sided fireplace that holds it together.
Green View Residence: a catwalk across a great room that rises past 20 feet.
Terrace House: a kitchen island turned to face the fairway and the mountains.
Ridge Light House: rift-cut white oak and quiet materials, with the views as the art.
Some projects shown were completed under MATERIA Interior Design. See our disclaimer.
One Water Street: three penthouse residences, each planned around panoramic views.
Lakestone Showhome, Lake Country: deep green accents, a textured tile fireplace and a matte black and walnut kitchen.
Questions about working with a Kelowna interior designer
Is interior design the same as decorating?
No. Decorating works with furniture, colour and accessories in a room that already exists. Interior design starts earlier, with rooms, cabinetry, lighting and materials planned on paper and drawn for the build. We do both.
Do you design multifamily buildings as well as custom homes?
Yes. We design affordable housing, rentals and independent living, as well as custom homes and showhomes. Multifamily work is about durability, consistency across units and documents a contractor can build from.
Can you work with our architect and builder?
Yes. We join the existing team and coordinate with your architect, builder and trades. ŌME provides interior design services. We are not registered with the AIBC to provide architectural services on projects that require a registered architect.
When should we bring in interior designers?
As early as you can, ideally before plans are final and before the builder prices the job. We can also join a project already underway, including near the end for furniture and staging.
How do consultations and meetings work?
Every meeting has a clear purpose. We hold it online, on site or at our suppliers, so clients outside the Okanagan can work with us easily and meet in person when it counts.
