Beacon Hill | Lake Country

Neutral palette, warm wood — a calm home tied to the view.

Great room with glass pendants over the dining table and folding glass walls to the deck, Beacon Hill, Lake Country

This custom residence in Lake Country was designed to sit easily in its landscape. The interior works from a deliberately short list of materials: soft neutrals, warm wood and textured concrete. The result is calm and grounded, and it leaves the views to do the talking.

Inside, wood brings warmth to the quieter neutral surfaces, while concrete adds weight and texture where the home meets the ground. [One sentence on a key moment, e.g. kitchen island, fireplace, stair or flooring.] The palette continues from room to room, so the house reads as one consistent space rather than a series of finished rooms.

The living spaces open directly to the decks, and large glazing frames the hillside and the lake beyond. Indoors and out share the same tones, which makes the transition feel natural rather than staged.

Design focus

  • Neutral and warm wood. Soft neutrals layered with wood and concrete for a serene, tactile interior.

  • Outdoor living. Main living spaces that open to the decks and the landscape beyond.

  • A quiet material story. Restraint, so the Okanagan setting leads.
